This ancient wine cellar is converted into spacious “gîtes” full of character, with a stunning outdoor swimming pool open for use from Easter to the end of October.
The property is set in the magnificent garden of Château de la Prégentière in Pontevès, in the sunny heart of Provence, surrounded by productive vineyards and 120 hectares of pine trees. A few miles from the historic village of Pontevès, and 30km away from the immense and magnificent canyon of Verdon – “Gorges du Verdon”.
The well maintained lawned gardens and vineyards extend to approximately 55 hectares, with large mature trees that provide shaded areas for those who want to escape from the sun. This quiet private garden has been described by visitors as an oasis, hidden in an old sanctuary. The sun shining, the singing of cicadas, and the soft smells of Provence, compliments the bird lovely songs.
There is no internet connection available, due to the remote location of the winery.
A ten-minute ride away by the side of the vineyards takes you to the village of Barjols where there is a parade of local shops and services, including a supermarket, tobacco dealers, pharmacy , and local take away cuisine.
You will also find a quality two-star restaurant called “Le Pont d’Or”. We have eaten there and can thoroughly recommend it!
Wine from the surrounding vines can be tasted at the winery cellar. Mr. Monge, the vintner, will provide you with a free guest tour and organize private tastings (on request). Special guest discount available if you buy winery direct.
